Andrew Gilmer
PRESIDENT & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Andrew has dedicated six years to Stuart Land & Cattle Company, leading as President and Chief Operating Officer with unwavering commitment. He drives every aspect of daily operations while collaborating deeply with the Board of Directors to shape bold strategies that seize future growth opportunities.
With a rich background in cattle production and land conservation—including his tenure as District Manager for the Clinch Valley Soil and Water Conservation District—Andrew brings invaluable expertise that anchors the company’s vision and fuels the team’s progress.
Guiding the stewardship of 16,000+ acres alongside advancing Stuart Land & Cattle Company’s s cattle business, Andrew is the steady force behind the company’s sustainable success and enduring legacy. He and his wife Laura raise their three children—Clyde, Crocket, and Ruth—in Rosedale, VA, inspiring the next generation to carry forward the tradition of excellence.

Sandy Stuart
VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Sandy is a descendant of William Alexander Stuart and carries forward a long-standing family legacy responsible for the management of both land and livestock. His connection to the farm is lifelong, and his leadership today is shaped by decades of diverse professional experience.
After graduating from university, Sandy spent two years in Ireland working with the British Bloodstock Agency as a thoroughbred horse agent. To this day, he remains active in horse racing in Virginia and serves as a board member of the Montpelier Steeplechase and Equestrian Foundation.
Following his time abroad, Sandy returned home to serve as Assistant Manager of Stuart Land & Cattle Company for five years. His commitment to the business has continued ever since, with more than 40 years of service on the Board of Directors. Today, he serves as Vice Chair, helping guide the company with a focus on sustainability, operational excellence, and preserving the farm for future generations.
In addition to his work on the farm, Sandy spent 27 years in Chicago as a Senior Vice President for two international trading firms, working with institutional clients around the world. This global experience informs a thoughtful, strategic approach to managing the farm today—balancing tradition with modern business practices.
